Art Lesson 1

– – –

This first lesson includes a power point/google slides and a printable pdf. You will want to review the
power point/google slides first to make sure it is understandable for yourself and worth your students time:

—

Now if you are happy with the lesson, next you will need the pdf of the idea sheets described in the presentation. There is a colour coded version (recommended) and a black and white version (more work for you, see below) depending upon how low the toner of the school printer is XD

Pre-lesson prep:

Sheets will need to be cut into 2-4 pieces depending upon how many students are sitting at each table (one box for each student). You will then need to place a coloured pen/pencil by each chair, corresponding to the colours of the prompts you placed at the table (this is so students know which idea they will be sketching). You’ll need primary and secondary colours, plus pink and brown).

If you printed the black and white version then you will also need to highlight or dot each idea box with the same pens you placed at the table.

Finally, each chair needs a sheet of paper.
+ a graphite pencils and rubbers/erasers if your students do not bring their own.

—

Now you are ready. First show the power point to your students, then have them find their idea box.

There are 32 idea boxes total, so if students are unhappy with the idea they got, they can exchange with you for a new one.

If you are confident in letting your students look up reference images, then please encourage this! And remind the less confident artists that this is not a practical exam, this is more about getting their artistic brain working and having fun creating things.

That’s everything! I hope it goes well and maybe you will move on to:
