Lessons 3&4
—
These lessons are grouped together because they directly tie into each other. For these lesson we will be using my storytelling game Brimagine. All of the rules are free and they can be found here on this same website.
In Lesson 3 students will be creating characters to play Classic Brimagine. And in lesson 4 students will play a match of Classic Brimagine using their characters.
To start, you and your students will want to have a read of the:
Classic Brimagine Rules
—
Below is a pdf to help each student build their character. A sheet can either be printed for each student or it can be used like a questionnaire (to be read out or put on the whiteboard) and students can write down their answers on blank paper.
Character Creation pdf
—
You do not have to answer every question on the questionnaire but your character must be unique to you, and have a unique goal and guiding principle.
Once you have filled this out, the next step is to create a piece of art depicting your character (If resources are limited, students can sketch on the back of their questionnaire sheet).

It will likely take a full Lesson’s time to play a match of Brimagine, so pair up as soon as you get in and re-read the Classic Rules. Then begin! You do not need to make any art for your turns but I would keep some short notes of your turns. I hope you have fun playing.

Some tips for playing: While Classic Brimagine does have rules, it is foremost a storytelling tool. Be patient with your partner and try compromising where you can. Also, you are in a room with other people telling stories all at once, so try to keep the volume down : )

This is the final art lesson. If you have enjoyed it, please tell your teacher. There is a comments section on
Lesson 1 for teachers to leave reviews, so other teachers know these materials are trustworthy and for any feedback you might have.
